As EAs, it's imperative that we use accurate and legitimate information when signing up customers, including unique email addresses for every enrollment. Providing incorrect or false information can lead to serious legal and compliance issues and is in direct violation of our Terms & Policies.
As is so often the case within the Think+ community, this is an opportunity for each EA to take accountability for not just their own behavior, but for educating team members as well. Invalid email addresses will lead to invalid enrollments -- negatively impacting our ability to allocate customers, secure more capacity, and become the top aggregator of community solar in the country.
There is no workaround for Think Community Solar
The reality of the situation is that we’re unable to allocate community solar customers without a unique, functional email address. There’s no realistic solution through paper mail or ways to process enrollments over the phone.
Without a valid, unique email address, customers will be unable to receive communications and cannot be allocated to community solar farms -- meaning any points and commissions will be revoked and EAs found to be providing illegitimate information could be suspended and possibly terminated.
How it’s laid out in the Ts and Cs
The Think+ Terms & Policies are guidelines put in place to ensure that our operations remain ethical, compliant, and in line with our own standards of excellence. It is our expectation that each member of Think+ adheres to these guidelines, which you can access any time here.
Here are a pair of specific passages from the Ts & Cs that may provide helpful context:
17. Energy Advisors must comply with all requirements of the state public service commission to ensure each Think customer enrollment is authorized. Energy Advisors are prohibited from having any of his/her contact information (phone number or email) associated with a customer account unless (i) the Advisor has the same residential address as the customer or (ii) the Advisor provides proof of ownership or other supporting documentation that shows the Advisor as the person authorized to make changes for non-residential addresses.
21. Prohibited Activities. Think+ prohibits Energy Advisors from engaging in any of the following activities:
-
Under no circumstances may an Energy Advisor use or provide their own email address – or any email address not associated with a potential customer – to a potential customer for use in that potential customer’s enrollment. A potential customer must provide their own email address in connection with their enrollment.
